Overview

Most surrogates we’ve worked with claim that the best part of being a surrogate is the tremendous emotional reward that comes from helping an infertile couple to fulfill their dreams of having their own children. The intimate friendship they’ve developed with the aspiring parents is an added bonus.

TLC Surrogacy welcomes kind-hearted women from all racial and ethnic groups to become surrogates. To be considered as a surrogate, you must meet these minimum qualifications:

  • Be healthy both physically and mentally, and maintain a healthy lifestyle
  • Be between the ages of 21 and 39
  • Weigh appropriately for your height (BMI below 32)
  • Be ovulating normally
  • Be drug free and tobacco free
  • Have successfully carried at least one baby of your own to full term

You should also know that, if selected as a surrogate, you must be willing to undergo extensive medical testing and take fertility drugs as required. Most importantly, you must be willing to have an extremely close relationship with the aspiring parents during the pregnancy and delivery.

Compensation for the time and effort of being a gestational surrogate carrier is negotiated between the surrogate and parents. TLC Surrogacy recommends compensation of $25,000 for a single birth and $30,000 for twins for first-time surrogates.
